What customers say?

“ Absolutely Amazing Experience at Bantam Kitchen! Bantam Kitchen is truly a hidden gem! The chicken wings were perfectly cooked crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and packed with incredible flavor. The Cajun shrimp were just as impressive fresh, seasoned to perfection, and bursting with that authentic Cajun kick. A huge shoutout to Chef Jason, who was absolutely extraordinary! You can taste the passion and creativity in every dish he prepares. And special thanks to Braxton, the front liner, whose warm attitude and genuine attention made the experience even better. He understood exactly what we wanted and made us feel truly welcome. This kind of food and service combination is rare — Bantam Kitchen has definitely set the bar high. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for great flavors, top-notch hospitality, and a memorable dining experience! ”

“ Very pleasantly surprised with the food and the service. We kept it simple and ordered the house cheeseburger and a couple beers. Fantastic! The service was friendly and quick enough. That positive vibe was also present with the customers. Everyone was friendly, probably because the food was so good. You won’t regret your visit to this restaurant. ”

“ Stopped in at the new Redding Marketplace to grab a quick lunch on the way to Oregon and tried this new-to-us restaurant. Enjoyed it enough that we stopped again on the way back from Oregon and wish there was one in Sonoma County. Great wings & tenders. Lots of variety on the menu. Good prices & awesome staff! We will be back!! ”

“ After visiting Lassen Volcanic National Park, my wife and I stopped at the Bantam Kitchen in Redding. Overall, it’s a good place to stop and eat. The service was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Overall, the atmosphere was good but there was a strong smell that was something like mildew in the bathroom area. My wife had the Jambalaya was good and would recommend it. I had the Mac & Cheese with Fried Chicken added on top which was good and I would recommend it. The Fried Chicken is not the traditional southern type fried chicken but had a good taste. ”

“ Bantam is a great place if you love southern food. Most food in Redding is pretty bad but this is not. Friendly service, thorough seasoning, hot food, at decent prices. ”

“ The chicken wrap was great, and the salad was very good with the same sauce the wrap had on it. Bring your appetite good quality and plenty of it. My friend had the chicken sandwich with the same salad I had. He really liked it and would order it again. Clean and friendly service. We shared the nachos with brisket. It is a must try. I believe that you won't be disappointed. ”

“ The fried food was amazing, the brisket sandwich was a bit over cooked in my opinion but it's nice restaurant that's kid friendly. I recommend the fry daddy plate, best fried catfish in Redding! ”

“ I dont give five stars very often, but Bantam deserves a five! If you are looking for no nonsense, flavorful food, this is the place. The atmosphere is all about family. The food reflects those family values. Flavorful and simple makes the evening perfect. I ordered the ell river pale ale. It went perfect with my Mac & cheese with smoked brisket which was fantastic. The catfish and chips and amazing as well. Fresh, moisten and crispy at the same time. The server was always smiling and attentive. Easy to make conversation with. I highly recommend this establishment if you want that authentic down home feeling. ”
